Basketball Recap: Biggs Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Brady Smith and Skyler Long

Biggs lost against Portola back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Biggs Wolverines fell 67-59 to the Portola Tigers. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Biggs had strong showings from Skyler Long, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds, and Brady Smith, who posted 18 points along with five boards and three steals. Long is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was David Ibarra, who had four points and 12 boards.

Even though they lost, Biggs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Biggs' loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Portola, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Biggs will face off against Maxwell at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Portola, they will square off against Hamilton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Portola's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 matches.
