The Turner Ashby Knights and the Liberty Christian Bulldogs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Turner Ashby Knights had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a rough 63-14 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, Turner Ashby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Liberty Christian is ranked fifth).
It was another big night for Gideon Davidson, who rushed for 359 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 22.4 yards per carry for Liberty Christian. Davidson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. Eli Castaneda was another major influence, as he rushed for 62 yards and ran in a TD.
Turner Ashby's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2. As for Liberty Christian, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Turner Ashby does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Liberty Christian will face off against William Byrd at TBD on Saturday. William Byrd is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
