The Spackenkill Spartans can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They blew past Mount Academy 71-44 at home. That's another feather in the cap for Spackenkill, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the defeat, Mount Academy saw an underclassman step up: Bruce Maendel scored 17 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maendel has scored all season. Donovan Baird was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Spackenkill's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Mount Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spackenkill will play host again and welcome Dover, where tip off is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ellenville at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Ellenville will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Mount Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
