The Clyde Fliers lost against the Bellevue Redmen back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Clyde fell 55-43 to Bellevue. While losing is never fun, Clyde can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while Bellevue is ranked 73rd).
Several Fliers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Sengstock, who scored 6 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Shiets, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Clyde and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Bellevue, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
Clyde will play host again and welcome Vermilion, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bellevue's road trip will continue as they head out to face Avon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th. Avon Lake's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so Bellevue's offense will have their work cut out for Bellevue.
