The Apex Cougars struggled with threes on Tuesday (the Green Level Gators had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Apex fell 52-43 to Green Level. Apex has struggled against Green Level recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Apex still got an impressive performance from Isabella Pease, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Destiny Richardson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Green Level to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deana Prasad, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Prasad's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stella Eckhart, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Apex's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Green Level, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Apex won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sanderson at 6:30 p.m. on December 13th. Sanderson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 506th, while Apex is ranked 191st). Green Level will be home for the holidays to greet Panther Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
