Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kinley Painter and Kennedy Phillips Lead Providence Academy to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grace Christian Academy, Providence Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 59-39 margin over the Lakeway Christian Academy Lions. Providence Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Providence Academy to victory were Kennedy Phillips and Kinley Painter. Phillips dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Painter posted 17 points and six steals. The matchup was Painter's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Myla Johnson, who scored six points and five boards.

Defeat or not, Lakeway Christian Academy got some senior leadership from Danielle Sawyer and Kami Wilson. Sawyer put up 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Wilson went 7 for 17 en route to 16 points. That was a full 41% of Lakeway Christian Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Providence Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.3 points. As for Lakeway Christian Academy, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15.
