The Cypress Woods Wildcats were the 34-13 winner over the Cypress Springs Panthers when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Cypress Woods fell just short of Cypress Springs by a score of 30-28. Cypress Woods' defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Despite the loss, Cypress Woods still got an impressive performance from Bryant Thomas, who rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Thomas really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.
Cypress Woods now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Cypress Springs, their win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Cypress Woods will take on Cypress Park at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cypress Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 773rd, while Cypress Woods is ranked 341st). As for Cypress Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Bridgeland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bridgeland is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
