Havana and Macomb are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Ducks will welcome the Bombers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Havana's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Macomb has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Havana is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Farmington get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Madolyn Howerter made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Howerter was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaydi Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Ava Kramer was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Havana always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.
Meanwhile, Macomb fell victim to Galesburg and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Silver Streaks.
Macomb's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Havana, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Everything went Havana's way against Macomb in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Havana made off with a 14-0 victory. Do the Ducks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bombers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
