Boone Grove had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Hobart Brickies. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolves also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Tristan Wilson and Javy Carrera made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Wilson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Carrera struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Wilson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Wilson went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Carrera went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Seth Pitcock was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Boone Grove: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Ben Truby also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Boone Grove hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hobart struck out ten times.

Boone Grove pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Hobart, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boone Grove will welcome Glenn at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hobart, they will host Chesterton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Brickies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
