The Udall Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 58-47 to Cedar Vale/Dexter. Udall was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cedar Vale/Dexter apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.
Udall lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kayl Knapp, who scored 17 points along with three blocks and two steals. That's the first time this season that Knapp scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Emma Alberts, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds.
Cedar Vale/Dexter found their leader in underclassman Zoe Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. Davidson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Edee Boatman was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Udall's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Cedar Vale/Dexter, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Oxford the next time they take the court. Udall will head out to face Oxford at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Cedar Vale/Dexter will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th.
