Softball Recap: Aitkin Has No Trouble Against Pine City

Aitkin won the last time they faced Pine City and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Gobblers were the clear victors by an 18-5 margin over the Dragons. Considering the Gobblers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Aitkin got a massive performance out of Natalie Stueven, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Stueven a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madellyn Schneider, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Aitkin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine City only posted an OBP of .346.

Aitkin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Pine City, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Aitkin has already played their next contest, a 19-2 win against Crosby-Ironton on the 14th. Pine City has also already played their next game (against East Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
