Midlothian is 3-0 against Midlothian Heritage since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Midlothian Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Midlothian earned a 59-47 win over Centennial. Given Midlothian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Centennial is ranked 537th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Midlothian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tevaughn Moore led the charge by scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Moore scored 15 or more points. Jacob Almodovar was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Midlothian Heritage can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Joshua by a score of 59-48.
Midlothian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season. As for Midlothian Heritage, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-17.
Midlothian strolled past Midlothian Heritage when the teams last played back in January by a score of 63-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Midlothian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
