With a playoff game on the line, the Canyon del Oro Dorados rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Shamrocks by a score of 35-27. The win was just business as usual for Canyon del Oro, who after 14 games remain undefeated this season.
Leading Canyon del Oro to victory were Chase Laux and Kayden Luke. Laux rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns, while Luke rushed for 221 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Laux's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
When it comes to explaining why Yuma Catholic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tayt Ford. Despite the final result, he rushed for 42 yards and three touchdowns. Ford is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
Canyon del Oro pushed their record up to 14-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.8 points per game. As for Yuma Catholic, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-1.
