The Nixa Eagles extended their postseason success on Friday against the Joplin Eagles. They blew past the Eagles 56-34. The win was just business as usual for Nixa, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Leading Nixa to victory were Malachi Rider and Dylan Rebura. Rider rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns, while Rebura gained 198 total yards and three touchdowns. Rider hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for five straight games. Nate Uber was another key contributor, throwing for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Joplin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Quin Renfro. Despite the final result, he rushed for 195 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Renfro's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards.
Nixa has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. As for Joplin, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Nixa will face off against Rockhurst at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockhurst will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Joplin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
