The Homer Trojans will take on the Grass Lake Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Homer beat Leslie 10-7. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Trojans' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Homer let Lani Miller and Brooklen Minix run wild. Miller went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one run, and one double, while Minix went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Miller has posted since back in April. Leyla Bunker was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Grass Lake came tearing into Monday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Jayhawks a 17-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Morgan ?Mo? Conrad (2026) was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Conrad (2026) was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Bree Salts (2025) was incredible, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and one double while going 4-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 4.5 RBI per game. Another player making a difference was Emily Brown (2025), who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Grass Lake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Homer is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Grass Lake, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Homer couldn't quite finish off Grass Lake in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 11-9. Will the Trojans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
