Softball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Wilcox RVT

Wilcox RVT strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the University Hawks an 18-0 shutout. 18 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Chloe Enger made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Katelyn Ouellette and Ashley Stimpson did most of the damage at the plate: Ouellette went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Stimpson got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Stimpson has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sam Olechowski, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Wilcox RVT always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Wilcox RVT pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilcox RVT will head out to challenge Abbott RVT at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for University, they will take on New Britain at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
