Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Liberty Ranch's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Liberty Ranch made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Union Mine, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hawks put the hurt on the Diamondbacks with a sharp 11-2 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won four games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Paityn Snow made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other pitching news, Laura Quinn looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Bella Granata, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlie Perez, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Liberty Ranch always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union Mine only posted an OBP of .240.

Liberty Ranch has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Union Mine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
