Make it 12 blowout wins for the Camden Bulldogs this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Lakewood 99-25 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Camden who now have six in a row.
Joyce Edwards was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 40 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Camden's points. Another player making a difference was Braylin Mungo, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten assists, and ten steals.
Lakewood lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ashley Boatright, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenyria Butler, who scored eight points.
Camden pushed their record up to 17-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 51.58 points. As for Lakewood, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Camden will head out on the road to challenge Lake City at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Camden is ranked second). As for Lakewood, they will be playing at home against Marlboro County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 12 consecutive losses for Marlboro County and three for Lakewood.
