The Tri-City Christian Eagles will head out to take on the Coastal Academy Stingrays at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tri-City Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
On Monday, Tri-City Christian earned a 5-1 win over Valley Center.
Marissa Chronic was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lilly Halverson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
Tri-City Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Coastal Academy hadn't done well against Escondido Charter recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Stingrays narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tigers 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Stingrays.
Therese Frazer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Coastal Academy's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cayla Contreras, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Kaycee Pinto, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Tri-City Christian's record is now 13-3-1. As for Coastal Academy, their record now sits at 10-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tri-City Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Coastal Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Tri-City Christian took their victory against Coastal Academy when the teams last played on April 4th by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
