Stafford is 6-1 against Bay City since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Stafford Spartans will be playing at home against the Bay City Blackcats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Stafford came up short against El Campo and fell 27-17. Stafford has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Stafford got a solid performance out of Christopher Gardner-Holland, who picked up 101 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Gardner-Holland's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards.
Meanwhile, Bay City scored first but ultimately less than Iowa Colony in their match on Friday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 28-27 to the Pioneers. It was the first time this season that Bay City let down their fans at home.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jada Andrews, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 52 receiving yards. Andrews hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Xylan Williams was another key contributor, picking up 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Stafford has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Bay City, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Stafford came up short against Bay City when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 27-20. Will Stafford have more luck at home instead of on the road?
