Freeway recap October 1, 2013
Fullerton moved up to 88 from 140 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Freeway. The Indians climbed the ranks as a result of beating San Juan Hills 28-21.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Fullerton beat the Stallions 28-21. The win marks fifth in a row for the Gus Martinez/Ed De Avila's team.
SCOTT LLOYD threw for 186 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 18-24 with 1 interception.
LLOYD was the best running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 125 yards as the Indians defeated El Rancho. DAMANI ROBERTS also contributed to the rushing game with 22 yards on the ground.
Fullerton's LLOYD and JAMES HUBBARD have formed a dream team this season, leading Freeway in both passing and receiving yards. LLOYD has thrown for 1,004 yards this season, while HUBBARD, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 18 catches for 366 yards. Buena Park's Deven Boston leads the league in rushing yards with 936.
The Coyotes' Boston needs only 64 yards against Westminster next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 88 carries Boston has put up 936 yards this year.
La Habra took down Gahr 43-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
