5A District 2 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Caleb Stephens and Jordan Franks provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Fort White. The longest such play in 5A District 2 this season, the connection resulted in 75 yards.
Rickards moved up to 130 from 256 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Raiders climbed the ranks as a result of a 46-26 win over Florida State University.
Franks was the best wideout in the league this week as Wakulla topped the Indians. Franks racked up two receptions for 113 yards. Demetrius Lindsey helped Wakulla's passing attack out by catching one ball for seven yards.
Charlie Kelly put up the best numbers through the air as Rickards beat the Seminoles. He finished with a total of 14 completions for 219 yards and one touchdown. Kelly's favorite target this week was Stephen Denmark, who caught two passes for 71 yards.
Lindsey was the most productive running back in 5A District 2 this week. He ran for 97 yards on 11 carries as the War Eagles defeated Fort White. Malik Thomas also contributed to the rushing game with 86 yards on the ground.
On the ground, Wakulla's Lindsey has rushed for 339 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Franks. The Wakulla star has 13 catches for 281 yards.
Scott Klees's team extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Demetric Jackson's team, 37-26. The win marks fourth in a row for the the War Eagles.
