The Aucilla Christian Warriors pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 62-55 to Echols County. Aucilla Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Echols County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Aucilla Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ethan Bass. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. That's the first time this season that Bass pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jacob Flynt, who scored 11 points.
Aucilla Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Echols County, their win bumped their record up to 2-10.
Aucilla Christian will head out on the road to square off against Cornerstone Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Echols County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Charlton County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Charlton County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
