Bountiful has won 18 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Davis has won 18 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The RedHawks will welcome the Darts at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bountiful 2.4, Davis 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Bountiful gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a run and slipped past Clearfield 5-4. The RedHawks haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Ella Miller made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Claire Yates was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Isabeau Hoff was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Bountiful hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Davis owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. Everything went their way against Layton as they made off with a 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Darts, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Bountiful, Davis also got a great game from a two-way player: Cambell Christensen. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Christensen was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Norah Sunderland, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Katie Klaumann, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Davis is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bountiful, their win bumped their record up to 22-3.
Both Bountiful and Davis just can't seem to miss. The RedHawks have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Davis struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bountiful couldn't quite finish off Davis in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 9-7. Will the RedHawks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
