The biggest upset of the week belonged to Niwot, who took down 73rd ranked Loveland, 22-19. Nathan Merriman threw for 311 yards and one touchdown in the win.
The Cougars moved up to 122 from 159 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Northern. Niwot climbed the ranks as a result of a 22-19 win over the Indians.
Duncan Goodrich made the biggest impact on defense this week as Windsor defeated Longmont. The 6-foot-2 senior racked up three sacks.
Elijah Noterman was the best wideout in the league this week as Josh Brewer's team beat Loveland. Noterman tallied five receptions for 117 yards. Cahill Kelleghan helped Niwot's passing attack out by catching four balls for 108 yards.
Joe Sanger was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 120 yards on 18 carries as the Wizards bested John Poovey's team. Jordan Porterfield also contributed to the rushing game with 101 yards on the ground.
Niwot's Merriman and Noterman have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 4A Northern in both passing and receiving yards. Merriman has thrown for 1148 yards this season, while Noterman, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 15 catches for 302 yards. Jeremiah Clymer from Mountain View leads the league in rushing with 573 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Mountain Lions take on the Cougars. Mountain View's offense has racked up 183 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Niwot has allowed only 160 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bart Mayes's team takes on the Cougars. As it stands, the Mountain Lions are in second, while Niwot is in fourth.
Windsor extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Trojans, 27-17. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
