The Blanco Panthers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Gonzales with a sharp 50-29 victory on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Blanco, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Blanco got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mina Broyles out in front who scored 15 points along with 7 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Broyles has scored at least 25% of Blanco's points. Another player making a difference was Candice Lopez, who scored 10 points along with 5 steals.
Blanco's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Gonzales, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Blanco will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lago Vista at 6:15 p.m. Hopefully Lago Vista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Gonzales, they will head out on the road to face off against Seguin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
