The DeMotte Christian Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 73-63 win over Marquette Catholic. With that win, DeMotte Christian brought their scoring average up to 51.3 points per game.
DeMotte Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tony Bos, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bos has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Bultema, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Marquette Catholic lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Josiah Mays, who scored 22 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Mays is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Vaughn Rael-Kludt, who scored 15 points.
Even though they lost, Marquette Catholic were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
DeMotte Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Marquette Catholic, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
DeMotte Christian will head out on the road to take on Whiting at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Marquette Catholic, they will be playing at home against River Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Marquette Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
