Brody Bartholomew of Oakes ran for the longest rushing play in A Region 1 this season against Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm last week. Bartholomew's team topped Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm as he sprinted for 79 yards on the play and finished with 77 in all.
Northern Cass was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Jaguars defeated Kidder County co-op [Steele-Dawson/Tappen/Sterling] 20-6.
Seth Abaurrea was a passing and rushing force as Carrington beat Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock.
Abaurrea was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 151 yards as the Cardinals beat Hillsboro/Central Valley. Walker Carr also contributed to the rushing game with 80 yards on the ground.
Peterson was the best wideout in A Region 1 this week as the Bulldogs topped the Valiants. Peterson racked up 4 receptions for 72 yards.
Bryce Meehl threw for 60 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 5-6 with 0 interceptions.
Meehl put up the best numbers in passing as Oakes beat Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm. Meehl's favorite target this week was Cole Ehrlin, who caught 3 passes for 51 yards.
Greg Dobitz's team's Meehl and Ehrlin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Meehl has thrown for 311 yards this season, while Ehrlin has 5 catches for 114 yards. Abaurrea from Carrington leads the league in rushing with 274 yards.
The Lions are currently in fifth, while the Tornadoes are in first.
