The Nashville Scrappers and the Central Arkansas Christian Mustangs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Nashville Scrappers had to settle for second. They fell 59-50 to the Mustangs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (41), Nashville still had to take the loss.
Several Scrappers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karson Chambers, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Tre Hopkins, who rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns.
Nashville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Central Arkansas Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Nashville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central Arkansas Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Elkins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Elkins knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully Central Arkansas Christian likes a good challenge.
