The third road contest was the charm for The Pickens Dragons, as they earned their first road win of the season. They skirted past White County 39-37. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Sam Streicher went supernova for Pickens, throwing for 344 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown. Mccord Purdy also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Pickens' win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for White County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Pickens will head out on the road to face off against Wesleyan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wesleyan is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for White County, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Gilmer at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Gilmer is ranked 243rd, while White County is ranked 230th).
