The Butte Valley Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against Bethel Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Butte Valley has five straight wins, the have four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Butte Valley beat the Cardinals 58-54.
Meanwhile, Bethel Christian ended up a good deal behind the Hornets on Tuesday and lost 50-36.
Despite the defeat, Bethel Christian saw an underclassman step up: Rad Schenkenberger dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Schenkenberger has been hot recently, having posted four or more blocks the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Johnson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Butte Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Bethel Christian, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13.
Everything went Butte Valley's way against the in their previous meeting back in January as the Bulldogs made off with a 56-33 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Butte Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
