Clover Hill is 1-9 against Midlothian since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cavaliers are taking a road trip to square off against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Clover Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Clover Hill couldn't beat Cosby on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Titans by a score of 7-6.
Kristyn Niles made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Hayes, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Midlothian strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Hanover get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Bella Moussa, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Erin Fiege also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Midlothian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive games.
Midlothian pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Clover Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Both Clover Hill and Midlothian just can't seem to miss. The Cavaliers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Midlothian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clover Hill might still be hurting after the 13-5 defeat they got from Midlothian in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
