The Banning Lewis Academy Stallions came tearing into Tuesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on La Junta with a sharp 60-34 win. Banning Lewis Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 26 points or more this season.
Trey Oden was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kobe Welch, who scored 12 points.
La Junta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dj Brown, who scored seven points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Brown grabbed two or more steals. Miles Marshall was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Banning Lewis Academy pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for La Junta, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
