Georgetown is 2-8 against Amesbury since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Georgetown Royals will be playing at home against the Amesbury Redhawks at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Georgetown had to kick off their season on the road two weeks ago, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Essex Tech as Georgetown made off with a 53-32 victory.
Amesbury can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 48-36 victory over Fitchburg. Amesbury's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Amesbury found their leader in underclassman Celia Tavares, who scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that Tavares scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ellison Talbot, who scored nine points.
Georgetown pushed their record up to 1-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Amesbury, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
