Softball Recap: Grafton Wins Going Away Against Lafayette

Grafton never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Lafayette on Monday. They put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 15-1 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Clippers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Gianna Mullvihill, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Madelyn Shields also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Grafton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 6-3 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Grafton's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Lafayette, they are on a 40-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grafton will take on York at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Clippers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Lafayette, they will challenge Tabb at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
