Calvary Academy is 0-1 against Nazarene Christian Academy since September of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Calvary Academy Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Nazarene Christian Academy Lions at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Calvary Academy was fully in charge, breezing past San Jacinto Christian Academy 60-24 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Calvary Academy.
Meanwhile, Nazarene Christian Academy got themselves on the board against Texoma Christian on Friday, but Texoma Christian never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles, posting a 50-0 win at home. The win was just what Nazarene Christian Academy needed coming off of a 52-28 loss in their prior match.
Dominic Johnson had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 270 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. Johnson's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Chandler Luedtke, who picked up 62 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Calvary Academy to 5-2 and Nazarene Christian Academy to 6-2.
Calvary Academy suffered a grim 48-24 defeat to Nazarene Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in September of 2017. Can Calvary Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
