Round Rock Westwood is 0-3 against Hutto since November of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Hippos at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Round Rock Westwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Manor 49-14 on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.
Wade Allen had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 293 yards and four scores while picking up 16.3 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Drew Norrell was another key player, picking up 101 receiving yards and one TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Round Rock Westwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 322 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 243 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hutto entered their tilt with Manor last Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mustangs 56-7. That 49 point margin sets a new team best for the Hippos this season.
Round Rock Westwood better keep an eye on Keilan Chavies. He was instrumental in Hutto's win, rushing for 168 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Those 168 rushing yards gave Chavies a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaden Stefek, who threw for 211 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Hutto's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Round Rock Westwood, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3.
Thursday's game might be decided on the ground. Round Rock Westwood has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 230 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hutto struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 155 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Round Rock Westwood ended up a good deal behind Hutto in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, losing 42-24. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other football content.
