Morgan took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Uintah, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Utes 6-4. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 7-1 win the Utes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2015.

Camron Talbot spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Morgan let Tyson Talbot and Kanyon Leonelli run wild. Talbot went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Leonelli got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Leonelli has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Meibos, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Morgan has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Uintah, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morgan will venture away from home to challenge Green Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Uintah, they are taking a road trip to take on Union at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Utes surely won't give up without a fight.
