The Nampa Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Vallivue Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nampa comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Nampa fell victim to Mountain View's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Mavericks at home and fell 27-0. While losing is never fun, Nampa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho football rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Mountain View is ranked third).
Meanwhile, Vallivue ended up a good deal behind Emmett on Friday and lost 42-24.
Vallivue's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Onix Carson, who rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and Ryker Oswald who rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Nampa's loss was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Eagle and 6-2 Owyhee (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 74.2% over those games). Vallivue has not been sharp this season, as they've lost six of their first eight contests, which leaves them at a 2-6 record this season.
Nampa barely slipped by Vallivue when the teams last played back in September of 2021, winning 39-38. Does Nampa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Vallivue turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
