It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Spanish Fort Toros had no problem doing just that on Monday. They breezed by the Golden Bears at home to the tune of 75-45. Spanish Fort's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Robertsdale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mallorie Rothe, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Rothe is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hannah Johansen, who scored 13 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Spanish Fort is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-17 record this season. As for Robertsdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-13.
