After flying high against the Rosebud-Lott Cougars on Tuesday, the Clifton Cubs came back down to earth. Clifton took a serious blow against Lorena on Friday, falling 59-15. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clifton in their matchups with Lorena: they've now lost six in a row.
Clifton got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Kyndall Hunt and
Laylah Gaona, who each put up four points.
Cameron Ritz held things down on the boards with four rebounds.
Clifton's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Lorena, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Clifton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hamilton at 6:15 p.m. Hamilton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Clifton in Texas (Hamilton is ranked 255th, while Clifton is ranked 718th). As for Lorena, they will head out on the road to face off against Lexington at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
