Leake Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season. They took their match on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 65-15 win over Park Place Christian Academy. With Leake Academy ahead 31-5 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Katye Jones was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Morgan Young, who scored 9 points along with 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Lamar got the win against Wayne Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 64-39.
Lamar can attribute much of their success to Blake Hart, who scored 18 points along with 6 assists and 4 steals, and Aryah Grace, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Grace has scored at least 25% of Lamar's points. Another player making a difference was Sarah Dudley Reed, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The losses dropped Leake Academy to 11-2 and Park Place Christian Academy to 1-4.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Leake Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 55.2 points per game. It's a different story for Lamar, though, as they've been averaging only 45.2 per game. The only thing between Leake Academy and another offensive beatdown is Lamar.
