The Columbus Cardinals were the 50-43 winner over the Second Baptist Eagles when they last played one another back in November of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Columbus was outmatched by Second Baptist at home and fell 61-31.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karlee Mathis, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Mathis hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Sage Thomas, who scored ten points.
Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Second Baptist, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Columbus won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Industrial at 6:15 p.m. on December 19th. Industrial is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Second Baptist will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Crockett at 1:30 p.m. on December 28th.
