Smithton kept up with Moberly until halftime on Thursday, but afterwards: not so much. The Spartans' defense stepped up to hand the Tigers a 4-0 shutout. Considering Moberly have won eight contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Smithton with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hayden Wemhoff (2), Ryan Ferguson, and Gabe Runde.

Moberly pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three matchups. As for Smithton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Moberly will venture away from home to challenge Mexico at 6:40 p.m. on Monday. As for Smithton, they will head out to face off against Cole Camp at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
