The Windham Whippets pushed their score all the way to 70 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Griswold. Windham was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Griswold apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Wednesday.
Windham lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tahj Jones, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The match was Jones' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Green, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Windham and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Griswold, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.
Windham will head out on the road to face off against Ledyard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Griswold won't have much time to rest: their next match is against North Haven at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
