The Wayne Country Day Chargers stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Arendell Parrott Academy at home to the tune of 77-26. Given Wayne Country Day's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Arendell Parrott Academy is ranked 482nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wayne Country Day got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carlos Vazquez out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Vazquez is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Kayleb Coles was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Oliver LuQuire, who scored six points.
Wayne Country Day pushed their record up to 24-9 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Arendell Parrott Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 14 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.
Wayne Country Day will face off against Wayne Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wayne Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Wayne Country Day surely won't give up without a fight. Arendell Parrott Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
