Rancho Cotate waltzed into their match on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Analy Tigers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-16, 18-25, 25-19.
Rancho Cotate got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Roxana Corona out in front who had 20 digs and six assists. That's the most digs Corona has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Izabella Harumi, who had 20 digs.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophia Lomanto, who had 24 digs and two aces. Lomanto is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Devyn Gray, who had 17 digs and one block.
Rancho Cotate's record now sits at 14-4. As for Analy, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-8.
