The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wyoming, who defeated 172nd ranked Taylor, 54-12.
The Cowboys moved up to 214 from 312 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Cincinnati Hills. Wyoming climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Yellowjackets 54-12.
Mariemont's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kane Coates threw for 157 and 2 touchdowns and Connor Bortz had 64 yards receiving. On the ground Ryden Lewis contributed 174 yards. David Cowart helped Mariemont's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 61 yards.
Lewis provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Warriors defeated Finneytown. Lewis' favorite target this week was Bortz, who caught 3 passes for 64 yards.
Macko Saffin was a key player and the best on defense this week as Mariemont beat the Wildcats. The 5-foot-10 senior.
Lewis was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 174 yards on 36 carries as Kurry Commins' team defeated Finneytown. Teammate Saffin added to the ground attack by rushing for 50 yards.
The Warriors' Coates and Cowart have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Coates has thrown for 817 yards this season, while Cowart, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 12 catches for 264 yards. Koty Kendall from Taylor leads the league in rushing with 437 yards.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Mariemont's Cowart goes up against Dave Huffman's team's Tyler Mays.
One of Cincinnati Hills' premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Warriors and the Yellowjackets face off next week.
Next week's game between Mariemont and Taylor will feature an aerial matchup as Coates tests his arm against Mays' defensive ability.
The Yellowjackets are in first place, while the Warriors are in fifth place.
Aaron Hancock's team took down Taylor 54-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
