Meanwhile, Wells' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 61-36 walloping at the hands of Bolton Central. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wells in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.
Willsboro Central dropped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.6 points per game. As for Wells, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7.
