Minico extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-6. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Idaho Falls Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 on Tuesday.

Kam Rutschke was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Rutschke was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Minico is 3-1 when Rutschke posts three or more hits, but 1-5 otherwise.
Rutschke wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Noah Rich, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Rich has launched this season.
As for Idaho Falls, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
On Idaho Falls' side, Makai Ferguson and Treygan Riedle did most of the damage at the plate: Ferguson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Riedle got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Ferguson has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Rooke Hawker, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Coming up, Minico is taking a road trip to square off against Pocatello at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Idaho Falls, they will face off against Skyline at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
